Taking a Disney cruise Line Vacation

As cruising began its return in August of 2021, I was - to say the least - more than excited to be back aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship! It had been nearly 2 full years since my last DCL cruise (20 months to be exact, but who’s counting?!).

After months and months of booking and being cancelled, the day we had been dreaming of was finally becoming a reality! We enthusiastically boarded the Disney Dream in September of 2020 for a 3 night sailing where a few tears might have been shed as we walked into the main atrium. Every Disney ship is something to behold. Since that time, and as of this writing, I have had the opportunity to sail on the Disney Dream 3 more times, the Disney Fantasy twice and once on the Disney Magic. Each sailing was special in its very own way, as every sailing is a brand new adventure.

Each Disney cruise offers something different with every sailing. From meeting your dining staff in the 3 Main Dining Rooms (that happen to be your servers for EACH night of your cruise, yes they move with you to each dining room), to character sightings and Disney themed broadway shows. Late evening mixologies to early morning sunrises while sipping specialty coffee’s in Cove Cafe - we touched on nearly all of Disney Cruise Line offerings.

Did you know that Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line able to offer FIREWORKS at sea? If you didn’t - now you do! With the wind in your hair and your family within arms reach - the upper deck lights dim as an announcement comes across the speakers that the magical show is about to begin! The anticipation and excitement can be felt throughout your fellow sailors! With the first bang, your mouth drops open as spectacular fireworks are exploding just off the side of the ship - all the while classic Disney music is synched to each explosion. Fair warning - tears and goosebumps may occur.

If I were to tell you everything about how special a Disney Cruise is, this might be way toooooo long to read! The Disney Dream has moved to her new home in Miami, FL since the end of May, 2022, while the brand new Disney Wish took her place in Port Canaveral for 3 & 4 night sailings in July, 2022. The Disney Fantasy will continue its 7 night cruises from Port Canaveral too. Of course, there’s also the Disney Magic out of Galveston, TX, New Orleans, LA & Port Everglades, FL, and the Disney Wonder will finally be back to her Summer home in Alaska- before making her trek “down under” to sail Australian waters.

With that said, I’ll leave you with this. If you’ve been thinking about taking a Disney Cruise at any point in the past - now is the time to hop on board.
