MALLORY DAVIDSON

TRAVEL PLANNER (Tupelo, MS)

mallory@dreamvisiontravel.com

I’m Mallory Davidson, born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, where I serve as office supervisor of a local medical billing company whose generous vacation benefits enable my vigorous addiction to Walt Disney World. I didn’t truly get to experience the parks until I was fresh out of college, and what began as a once a year habit quickly spiraled out of control in the best possible way. Despite living almost 12 hours away, I’ve been an annual passholder since 2018, and could be considered your resident childless millennial park guest, except I am a huge fan of matching t-shirts! (Seriously, do you know how easy it is to find each other in a crowd??) Each trip brings something new and different to see, taste, and experience, which is what I love about Walt Disney World and keeps me coming back for more!

Favorite Disney memory?
In 2016, I attended the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays Candlelight Processional for the first time. Seated next to me was an older gentleman with his wife there to celebrate his birthday. He struck up a conversation with my roommate and me as we waited for the show to begin, and he asked if we had ever seen the show. When I told him we hadn’t, he told me he was so excited for us to experience it for the first time and that there was just nothing like it. He said it’s his absolute favorite show at Disney World and that’s why he wanted to come for his birthday. The show began, the choir sang beautifully, our celebrity narrator, Anthony Mackie, shared heartfelt personal anecdotes, the music swelled around us, and tears streamed down my face for the entire show. That itself should have been enough to cement this as a favorite in my memory, but then I looked over and the older gentleman next to me wasn’t even looking at the choir. He was looking at me, and he had the biggest smile on his face. “I told you so,” he said sweetly, and I cried that much harder.

Favorite restaurant at Disney?
I am a huge fan of the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Hollywood Studios. The theming is top-notch, but the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. It always feels like such a relaxing, calm escape in the middle of the park. Since the movies playing tend to grab folks’ attention, it always seems so quiet and chill, and of course, the food is delicious! I love to try their seasonal burgers, and the milkshakes are amazing!

What should guests remember when visiting the parks?
Slow down and savor the moments! I know it’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of cramming as much as you can in your park day, but I like to divide my parks up and focus on only a few lands at a time. This gives me time to explore the shops, hit the snack stands, and really notice the details. Obviously it’s easier to do this on a longer trip and if you go more often, but Disney just has such outstanding attention to detail waiting to catch your eye if you have time to stop and really take it in!
